Georgia Marble Festival parking, shuttles and directions

The short answer

Georgia Marble Festival parking is free and off site. In 2026, free shuttles ran all day from Ingles (1449 W Church St.) and Chattahoochee Technical College (100 Campus Dr.) to Lee Newton Park, home of the Pickens County Visitor Center, 500 Veterans Memorial Blvd, Jasper, Georgia. If you have a quarry tour, reach a shuttle lot at least an hour before it.

Parking for the Georgia Marble Festival in Jasper, Georgia, is free, and it isn’t at the festival. The Pickens County Chamber of Commerce runs free shuttles throughout the day from two lots to the grounds at Lee Newton Park (Pickens County Chamber). That is how it worked for the 2026 festival on October 3-4, 2026. The Chamber’s parking page carries no year, so it is the best guide until 2027 details are posted.

Where the festival is

Lee Newton Park, home of the Pickens County Visitor Center, 500 Veterans Memorial Blvd, Jasper, GA 30143. In the Chamber’s directions it sits on GA 53 about a mile from GA 515, across from Mountain Education Charter High School. Calendar sites print other street numbers for the park. Use the Chamber’s.

The two free shuttle lots

Lot Address Cost
Ingles 1449 W Church St., Jasper, GA 30143 Free parking and shuttle
Chattahoochee Technical College 100 Campus Dr., Jasper, GA 30143 Free parking and shuttle

The Chamber says the shuttles run “throughout the day” between these lots and the festival grounds. It does not publish shuttle hours or how often they run, and it lists no visitor parking at Lee Newton Park itself. The 2026 Know Pickens listing names the same two lots.

On our map, Ingles is west of Lee Newton Park and Chattahoochee Tech is east of it, past downtown. The Chamber doesn’t recommend one over the other. If you’re coming up GA 515 from Atlanta, Ingles is on your side of town; if you’re coming over GA 53 from Tate, Chattahoochee Tech is. Check the map before you leave either way.

The Chamber publishes no accessibility information for the festival shuttles. The quarry-tour buses are school buses and are not wheelchair accessible, per the Chamber. If you need an accessible ride or drop-off, call (706) 692-5600 before festival weekend, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Directions from Atlanta

These are the Chamber’s directions. Take I-75 North to Exit 268 and get on I-575 North. At the Pickens County line the interstate ends and becomes GA 515, the Zell Miller Mountain Parkway. At the third traffic signal, turn right onto GA 53 East. Lee Newton Park and the Chamber building are about a mile up on the left, across from Mountain Education Charter High School.

By our estimate, Lee Newton Park to central Atlanta is about 60 miles, roughly 71 minutes without traffic (OSRM routing estimate). That figure assumes empty roads, so treat it as the best case.

Directions from Dahlonega or Dawsonville

Again the Chamber’s wording, lightly trimmed. Take GA 53 West all the way to Tate. At the 4-way stop in Tate, turn right and stay on GA 53 West into Jasper. Cross Main Street and go about half a mile; the festival grounds are on the right, across from Mountain Education Charter High School.

Our estimates: about 39 miles and roughly an hour from Dahlonega (OSRM), about 25 miles and 38 minutes from Dawsonville, both without traffic. This route runs right through Tate on GA 53, the spine of the old marble company village. If you want to stop on the way home, see the Tate marble trail.

Drive times from nearby towns

From Distance Drive time, no traffic
Tate about 6 miles roughly 11 minutes
Talking Rock about 8 miles roughly 13 minutes
Ellijay about 20 miles roughly 27 minutes
Amicalola Falls State Park about 22 miles roughly 34 minutes
Dawsonville about 25 miles roughly 38 minutes
Blue Ridge about 35 miles roughly 45 minutes
Dahlonega about 39 miles roughly 59 minutes
Atlanta (city center) about 60 miles roughly 71 minutes

These are our own estimates from the public OSRM router, measured from Lee Newton Park on October 18, 2026, with no traffic. The Chamber does not publish drive times.

Plan your Marble Festival trip

Four quick questions, answered with how the 2026 festival actually worked: the day, the way you drive in, who is coming and what you most want to do. The 2027 dates are not announced yet, so treat the 2026 details as the pattern to confirm.

Which day would you go? Saturday

Saturday is the long day. In 2026 the parade came down Main Street at 10 a.m., the festival opened at Lee Newton Park at the same hour, and the grounds stayed open until 6 p.m.

  • Parade and festival both started at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2026. (Visit Pickens)
  • Saturday hours in 2026: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Know Pickens)
  • The Headliner Stage ran from a 10:30 clogging set to a 5 p.m. closing act. (Visit Pickens)

Which day would you go? Sunday

Sunday is shorter and has no parade. In 2026 the grounds were open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the stage running from 11 a.m. to a 3 p.m. last act.

  • Sunday hours in 2026: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Know Pickens)

Which way are you driving in? From Atlanta (I-575 / GA 515)

The Chamber's own directions: I-75 North to Exit 268 and I-575 North, which becomes GA 515 at the Pickens County line; at the third traffic signal turn right onto GA 53 East; Lee Newton Park and the Chamber building are about a mile on, on the left. On festival weekend, park free at either shuttle lot instead.

Every line comes from the source it links to. Drive times are our own OpenStreetMap routing estimates without traffic, not published figures. 2026 details are the pattern, not a promise for 2027: confirm with the Pickens County Chamber, 706-692-5600.

Quarry tour holders: give yourself an hour

If you have a quarry tour ticket, the shuttle from either lot drops you at the Quarry Tour check-in tent. The Chamber recommends getting to the shuttle lot at least an hour before your tour. Check-in is required at least 30 minutes before departure, the buses leave on schedule, and there are no refunds for tours missed because of late check-in (Pickens County Chamber). Parade morning

The parade comes down Main Street in downtown Jasper at 10 a.m. Saturday, the same hour the festival opens at Lee Newton Park. The Chamber publishes no parade route or road closures, so allow extra time if your drive crosses downtown on Saturday morning. The parade page has what is known.
